About Dr. Yazdanpanah

Dr. Nima Yazdanpanah, DO, QME is an interventional pain management specialist and physiatrist and the founder of AHBA (Ahura Wellness PC). He completed his undergraduate training with a focus on biomedical engineering and bioinformatics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and then began his medical training with an internal medicine internship at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, an affiliate hospital of NYU School of Medicine.

He then completed an emergency medicine fellowship at NYU Langone Health, where he served the City of New York during the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by a residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University, serving the State of New York, and a fellowship in pain medicine under the anesthesiology department at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington. He completed his acupuncture training through NYU Langone Health and State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University's combined program. He is a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) for the State of California.

Dr. Yazdanpanah brings a whole-person approach to care, with training spanning pain management, physiatry, longevity medicine, functional medicine, regenerative medicine, acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine, as well as certification as a yoga instructor in numerous styles, including Vinyasa, traditional hot yoga (Hatha), and advanced meridian yoga.

An active researcher, Dr. Yazdanpanah was recognized with the top prize at the American Academy of Pain Medicine for “Best Assistive Tech & Rehab Hack to Improve Lives of Patients with Chronic Pain” at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Grand Hack, the largest healthcare hackathon, and went on to serve as a mentor for subsequent MIT Hacking Medicine hackathons in New York and Washington, D.C. His academic work is concentrated in epigenetics, molecular modeling, nanotechnology, pain management, spinal cord stimulation, neurorehabilitation, and functional outcomes.

Dr. Yazdanpanah currently serves as President of The New York Society of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the largest physiatry state society, and as Director at Large of the Eastern Pain Association, the oldest national pain society.
